The NFBA is the only national trade association that represents post-frame industry professionals. The association is the country's primary source of post-frame building resources, research, networking, news and education.
ANSI A14 Ladder Safety Committee
The Ladder Safety Committee met on April 23 and approved the A14.8 ladder accessories standard. This is the first time it has ever been released. The new standard covers all ladder accessories. There were no other standard approvals, although several of the standards are in the revision process. We are unaware of any significant impact that any of the current revisions would have on NFBA.
For a very good free ladder safety multimedia training program, visit www.americanladderinstitute.org. The next Ladder Safety Committee meeting will take place October 1, 2013.

NFBA honors Gary Auman, NFBA Legal Counsel, with the 2012 Bernon G. Perkins award

At the Awards Luncheon at the 2013 Frame Building Expo in Memphis, Tennessee, NFBA presented the prestigious Bernon G. Perkins award to an outstanding industry professional. The 2012 NFBA Bernon G. Perkins award went to Gary Auman, attorney at Dunlevey, Mahan & Furry, located in Dayton, OH. Auman also serves as Legal Counsel for the NFBA as well as several other construction associations.
The Bernon G. Perkins award was named after a man who pioneered the modern post-frame building design and helped turn the modern pole building from a temporary to a long-lasting structure. It is among NFBA's highest honors.
